Abstract

Jumlah penduduk lansia di dunia tumbuh dengan cepat bahkan tercepat dibandingkan dengan kelompok usia lainya. Jumlah penduduk lansia 9.77% dari total penduduk tahun 2010 dan diperkirakan pada tahun 2020 menjadi 11.34%. Proses menua akan terjadi perubahan, lansia yang tidak siap dengan perubahan ini akan berdampak terhadap psikologisnya yang akan menimbulkan masalah salah satunya depresi yang disebabkan oleh penyakit fisik, stress, sumber ekonomi yang kurang dan kurang atau tidak adanya dukungan sosial terutama pada lansia yang berada dipanti werdha. Salah satu terapi yang dapat mengatasi depresi pada lansia adalah Life Review Therapy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Life Review Therapy terhadap depresi lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin Tahun 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi-eksperimental pretest and posttest one-group design dengan jumlah sampel 38 orang lansia yang mengalami depresi dengan pengambilan sampel secara total sampling. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Wilcoxon. Hasil uji statistik didapatkan nilai p = 0.000 ada perubahan signifikan antara depresi sebelum dan sesudah pemberian life review therapy. Terapi ini direkomendasikan untuk mengatasi depresi lansia yang tinggal di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha yaitu memberikan bantuan psikoterapi keperawatan untuk meminimalisir kejadian tingkat depresi pada lansia.
