Abstract
ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF OBESITY WITH THE INCIDENCE OF HYPERTENSION IN ADOLESCENTS : A NARRATIVE REVIEW By Siti Maryan, Fitrisia Amelin, Ulya Uti Fasrini, Indra Ihsan, Fadrian, Yustini Alioes Hypertension that occurs during adolescence will continue into adulthood and increase the risk of morbidity and mortality. Hypertension is caused by many factors including age, genetics, nutritional status and others. This survey aims to find out the relationship between obesity and the incidence of hypertension, especially in teenagers. This review is a narrative review of cross-sectional research articles published in 2010-2021. The research period starts from April 2021 – July 2022. Article searches are carried out since September 2021. Article searches are carried out using two electronic databases, namely Google Scholar and Pubmed. The article reviewed is a full text article in Indonesian and English, the article is Original Research and its quality is assessed using The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for Crosssectional Studies. A total of 6,397 literatures were obtained from two databases. There were a total of nine articles included in this narrative review. Most of the studies (8 out of 9 articles) show that there is a significant relationship between obesity and the occurrence of hypertension in teenagers.
