Abstract

Puberty is a crucial developmental phase during adolescent life, marked by significant physical, hormonal, and psychological changes. Lack of understanding of these changes can lead to anxiety and misconceptions among adolescent, this emphasizing the need for adequate education. This study is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 324 respondent from students at grades VII and VIII at SMPIT Darel Iman Padang. Data were analyzed using descriptive and comparative statistics. Results showed that most students had a good level of knowledge regarding the physical changes that occur during puberty (66.7%). However, there was a significant difference in knowledge levels based on gender; students tented to have a better understanding of physical changes in males (85,5%) compared to those in females (50.3%). These findings highlight the need for educational institution to strengthen reproductive health education in schools and encourage parents to take an active role in teaching reproductive health to adolescents at home.
