Abstract

Abstract The Correlation Between Body Mass Index (BMI) And The Age Of Menarche On Female Students Of Elementary School Pertiwi 2 And 3 Padang By Suci Ramadhani P Menarche is the first menstrual cycle for female teenagers. In the past decade shows a shift in the age of menarche trend toward younger age. Body Mass Index (BMI) is one of the factors that influences the age of menarche. Rapid onset of menarche also found in obese children than lean. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between BMI with age of menarche. This research used an analytic study with cross sectional design. A sample of 34 students was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data was collected by height and weight measurement, than was analyzed by Lambda correlation test. The results showed the average BMI 21,49 kg / m2, and the average age of menarche was 10.73 years with 9 years old as the youngest and the oldest 12 years. There is a correlation between BMI at the age of menarche, with r = 1.000 (r > 0,01). The conclusion of this research is there is a significant correlation between BMI and the age of menarche. Keywords : Body Mass Index (BMI), age of menarche, female teenagers Abstrak Hubungan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) Dengan Usia Menarche Pada Siswi SD Pertiwi 2 dan 3 Padang Oleh Suci Ramadhani P Menarche adalah periode menstruasi yang pertama kali terjadi pada remaja putri. Pada dekade terakhir menunjukkan kecenderungan pergeseran usia menarche ke arah umur yang lebih muda. Indeks massa tubuh (IMT) merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi usia menarche. Onset menarche yang lebih cepat ditemukan pada anak yang gemuk dibandingkan yang kurus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan hubungan IMT dengan usia menarche. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 34 orang yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengukuran tinggi badan dan berat badan lalu dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Lambda. Hasil penelitian adalah rata-rata IMT 21,49 kg/m2 dan rata-rata usia menarche adalah 10,73 tahun dengan usia termuda 9 tahun dan tertua 12 tahun. Ditemukan adanya hubungan antara IMT dengan usia menarche dengan nilai r = 1,000. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan bermakna antara IMT dengan usia menarche.
