Abstract

Active students on college can be asessed by attendance rate at lecture. Researcher interested to assess student activeness based on high number of unattendence rate at lecture. Lecture in this research refer to morning lecture that being hold at 07.00 AM. This qualitative research uses case study approach. Case study approach applies purposive sampling as sampling method. Data undertaken mainly by in-depth interview and completed by observation and documentation. Result from interviews present some factors that differentiated into student factors and learning process factor. Student factors divide into internal factors and external factors. Internal factors consist of overslept, lazy, other task and other activity. External factors consist of weather, traffic, teaching method of lecturers and too early. Learning process factor is about self-directed learning uses lecturer materials such as slides. Summary of this research shows that too early factor and teaching method of lecturers factor are the most presented reason according to respondences interview.
