Abstract
Introduction: The aging process causes a decrease in the ability of cells β the pancreas in producing insulin. One of the complications experienced by people with diabetes mellitus iswound on the leg.The heaviest result of the wound on the leg of people with diabetes mellitus is amputation and diabetic ulcers. Diabetic foot ulcers and amputations are the main causes of disability, morbidity, and death in these patients. To avoid the complications that occur, physical exercise is highly recommended, especially to prevent diabetic foot ulcers in DM patients by doing leg active ROM because it can smooth vascularization of the lower extremities. Purpose: Knowing elderly nursing care in the context of families with type 2 diabetes mellitus through the application of active leg ROM exercises to prevent diabetic foot ulcers. Result: From the nursing care that has been given for 25-30 minutes a day with two exercises for 10 days, it shows that active leg ROM exercise is effective in reducing tingling in the feet and preventing the risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers with a score inlow’s 60 second diabetic foot screen screening toolwhich was originally at score 4 to score 1 (low risk). Conclusion: Roman active feet effective in reducing tingling in the feet and preventing the risk of diabetic foot ulcers in DM patient with stroke patient. It is hoped that the elderly and their family can carry out this active leg ROM exercise continuously to reduce tingling in the feet and carry out medical examination to improve the health status of the elderly.
