Abstract
ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DURATION OF BREAST-FEEDING WITH BREAST CANCER IN MULTIPAROUS WOMEN IN WEST SUMATRA By Eka Putri Kurnia Ilahi Breast cancer is the most common cancer in both developed and developing countries. The main cause is unknown, but there are several risk factor have been know associated with the incidence of breast cancer, such as age, genetic, parity, duration of breast-feeding, early menarche, late menopause, and lifestyle. This study aimed to determine the relationship between duration of breast-feeding with breast cancer in multiparous women in West Sumatera. This was an observational analytic study with a case control design at Dr. M. Djamil General Hospital in Padang. The research respondents were consisted of 64 people divided into 2 groups, the case and control. Data collection was collected by consecutive sampling technique through interview using a breast-feeding history form and data patients of breast cancer in Dr. M. Djamil General Hospital Padang 2017-2018. Analysis between duration of breast-feeding with breast cancer was performed by using Chi Square test. The results of the statistical analysis showed that 25% of the case groups were breast-feeding for less than 12 months, and 3,1% of the breast-feeding control group was less than 12 months. There was a significant positive relationship (p value=0,026) between duration of breast-feeding with breast cancer (OR=10,33, 95% CI=1,208-88,362 ). ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN LAMA PERIODE MENYUSUI DENGAN KEJADIAN KANKER PAYUDARA PADA WANITA MULTIPARA DI SUMATERA BARAT Oleh Eka Putri Kurnia Ilahi Kanker payudara merupakan kanker paling banyak terjadi pada wanita baik di negara maju maupun negara berkembang. Penyebab utamanya belum diketahui, namun terdapat beberapa faktor risiko yang diketahui berkaitan dengan terjadinya kanker payudara, seperti umur, genetik, paritas, lama menyusui, menarche dini, menopause lambat, dan gaya hidup. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan lama periode menyusui dengan kejadian kanker payudara pada wanita multipara di Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional dengan desain penelitian case control study, yang dilakukan di RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Responden penelitian terdiri dari 64 orang yang terbagi dalam 2 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kasus dan kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik consecutive sampling melalui wawancara menggunakan formulir wawancara riwayat menyusui dan data pasien kanker payudara di RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang tahun 2017-2018. Analisis hubungan lama periode menyusui terhadap kanker payudara dilakukan dengan uji Chi Square. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa 25% dari kelompok kasus menyusui selama kurang dari 12 bulan, dan 3,1% dari kelompok kontrol menyusui kurang dari 12 bulan. Terdapat hubungan bermakna secara statistik (p=0,026) antara lama periode menyusui dengan kejadian kanker payudara (OR=10,33, 95% CI=1,208-88,362 ).
