Abstract

The Difference of Cinderella Complex between Female University Students with Matriarchy Culture and Patriarchy Culture in Padang Meta Dwi Andriani, Yantri Maputra, Nelia Afriyeni Psychology Major, Medical Faculty, Andalas University ABSTRACT Cinderella complex is a preference or pretension of woman to suspended psychologically, showed by a strong pretension to be protected by the others, specially by man, and conviction that something outside will help them. Cinderella complex also attack female university students. An external factor influences cinderella complex is culture. Generally, there are two culture forms in indonesia, they are matriarchy and patriarchy. Matriarchy culture, causes man position seem weak, while patriarchy culture was formed as ideology that man have higher position than woman, woman must be dominated by man. More ever, woman are reputed as mans property. This research aims to see whether there is difference of cinderella complex between female university students with matriarchy culture and patriarchy culture in padang. Datas were gotten from 300 female university students in Padang. The measurement of cinderella complex by using cinderella complex scale, consisted of 38 item. Reliability of the scale is 0,904. This research analyzed with independent sample t-test, show that p significance score is 0,510 > 0,05. This significance score, prove that there is no significant difference of cinderella complex between female university students with matriarchy culture and patriarchy culture in padang. Based on that result, then hypotheses of this research is refused. Keywords : cinderella complex, matriarchy, patriarchy
