Abstract

Tanti Balado Banana Chips business has been established since 2017. However the business has not been able to expand the market in Padang City due to its less strategic location, increased competitors, and other obstacles. This study aims to identify external and internal factors influencing the Tanti Balado Banana Chips business and to formulate development strategies at Tanti Balado Banana Chips business. The study used a case study method. The data were analysed by qualitative and quantitative method using IFE, EFE, SWOT and QSPM matrix. The results showed that the strengthness of Tanti Balado Banana Chips business was as a well-known brand in Padang City. The weakness was that the outlet is not in strategic location. The opportunities were trends and lifestyles of people who like to buy souvenirs. The threats were competition with competitors and business legality that is not optimal yet. From the SWOT matrix,4 strategies were obtained. The first strategy is increasing sales by utilizing social media and digital platforms in marketing. The second strategy is iimproving financial management, production planning and more suitable business locations. The third strategy is adding more strategic business locations. The fourth strategy is replacing manual machinesinto more advanced technology.
