Abstract

Unemployment is a situation where a person in the labor force wants to find a job but has not been able to get it. Someone who does not work, and those who are not actively looking for work, are not included in unemployment. The gender gap is a social injustice that occurs between male and females in various aspects of life, such as opportunities and control over resources, economics, power, and political participation. This research was conducted to find out the factors that influence female unemployment in West Sumatera and Bali. The data used are secondary data obtained from the National Labor Force Survey in August 2021. The total observation units used in this study were 4.858.787 people. The analysis technique used in this study is probit model analysis. The results of the study show that females in Bali have a lower probability of being unemployed compared to females in West Sumatera. In addition, the unemployment rate of females with junior high school to below in Bali is lower than the unemployment rate of females with junior high school to below in West Sumatera.
