Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between government debt and economic growth of Indonesia, both in the short and long run. This study uses Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) integration approach and error correction mechanism to ascertain the long-run relationship and the short-run dynamic nature of government debt and economic growth. The data used in this study are annual statistical data from 1980-2017 obtained from several sources, namely Bank Indonesia, Ministry of Finance and World Bank. The results of this study show that a negative relationship and significant between government debt and economic growth in Indonesia both in the short and long run.
