Abstract

ABSTRACT Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a clinical manifestation in critical stage of coronary artery disease. ACS consists of unstable angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation (STEMI) and myocardial infarction without ST (NSTEMI) segment elevation. According to World Health Organization (WHO) data, cardiovascular disease responsible of 43% deaths in men and 55% in Female, while more than 50% of Female with ACS have no symptoms of chest pain, 95% of Female experience prodromal symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, weakness, sleep disturbance, difficulty in swallowing and anxiety, which made ACS not thought to be the first cause and causing high mortality and complications rate. This study aims to determine the clinical manifestations in female patients with acute coronary syndromes treated in Cardiology and Vascular Department RSUP M. Djamil Padang. This is a descriptive study using cross sectional approach. Sample selected using total sampling method and 85 samples met the exclusion and inclusion criteria. The study conducted in January 2018. The results showed that female patients who admitted to RSUP.M.Djamil diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome aged <65 years were 58 people (68.2%), with major complaint of chest pain as many as 47 people (55.3%), non ST elevation found in ECG examination in 61 people (71.8%), and troponin T (-) as many as 47 people (55.3%).
