Abstract

Hijab related to such as form of Islamic dress. In Padang there was a regulation for muslims students to wear hijab in their schools. But there’s no regulation that required students to wore hijab in Andalas University (Unand). Nevertheless, some from a Unand’s students wearing the hijab only in Unand campus although there is no rule which obligated them to wore the hijab on the campus. The purpose of this study is to describe the attitude toward hijab in a college student that only wore hijab in the Andalas University campus and the factors that influence it. The methods that used in this research is descriptive quantitative research methods with the basic theory of attitude of Azwar (2011) and the factors that influencing the attitude of Azwar (2011). The data collection was done by using attitude toward the hijab measuring instrument and open questionnaires to get the factors that influencing them. The sampling technique in the study using quota sampling. Participants for this research amounted to 150 Unand’s students that wearing hijab only in Unand campus. The result of this research showed that more students reveal the attitudes negative on the hijab. The factors that affected students with negative attitudes to wore the hijab to campus was peers groups and local norms. While the most factors that influenced students on a positive attitude to wear the hijab to campus was a their peers and comfort in dressing factors. Keywords: attitudes, hijab, students, Andalas University Berjilbab erat kaitannya dengan corak berpakaian keislaman. Di Kota Padang sendiri terdapat aturan bagi pelajar yang beragama Islam untuk mengenakan jilbab di sekolah. Akan tetapi, peraturan wajib berjilbab tersebut tidak berlaku di perguruan tinggi, salah satunya Universitas Andalas (Unand). Meskipun begitu, sebagian dari mahasiswi Unand mengenakan jilbab hanya di lingkungan kampus Unand meskipun tidak ada aturan tertulis yang mewajibkan berjilbab. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran sikap terhadap jilbab pada mahasiswi yang hanya mengenakan jilbab di lingkungan kampus Universitas Andalas dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan dasar teori sikap dari Azwar (2011) dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi terbentuknya sikap dari Azwar (2011). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat ukur sikap terhadap jilbab dan kuesioner terbuka untuk mendapatkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah quota sampling. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswi Universitas Andalas yang hanya mengenakan jilbab di lingkungan kampus sebanyak 150 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebih banyak mahasiswi yang menunjukkan sikap negatif terhadap jilbab. Faktor yang paling banyak mempengaruhi mahasiswi dengan sikap negatif terhadap jilbab memakai jilbab ke kampus adalah faktor teman sebaya dan norma setempat. Sedangkan faktor yang paling banyak mempengaruhi mahasiswi dengan sikap positif terhadap jilbab untuk memakai jilbab ke kampus adalah faktor teman sebaya dan kenyamanan dalam berbusana.
