Abstract
The need for electrical energy continues to increase over time, forcing humans to be able to utilize all available resources. In addition, the condition of the earth that continues to deteriorate is another reason why we need to start using and developing renewable energy that is more environmentally friendly. Therefore, in this study a prototype of a pico hydro power plant was designed that can work on water flow with a low head. According to the calculation results of the pico hydro generator that has been designed to produce an electric power of 18.24 watts at a water discharge of around 0.0024 m³/s. And when testing directly, the voltage value is 6.7 V in the no-load test. For testing with a load, the voltage value is 3.8 V and the power is 8.49 watts at a water discharge of 0.0024 m³/s. Based on the results obtained, it is known that the value of the electric power from the test results is smaller than the value of the electric power obtained through calculations.
