Abstract

Development of the fashion industry in Indonesia bring the influence on business in West Sumatra, especially in Bukittinggi, in order to make distribution outlets products with the mainly themed Minangkabau. Distribution outlets or better known as a Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak is one of the oldest distro from several distro that are in Bukittinggi. However, the development and the emergence of new competitors Minangkabau distro in Bukittinggi become a threat to the Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak to expand his business. In order to survive and win the fashion industry competition, the company must have an appropriate management strategy. Therefore this research was conducted an appropriate business strategies for the distribution outlet of Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak confronting market competition. The required data on this research is the aspect and the SWOT factors to assess business conditions distribution outlet Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak, aspect and relationship SWOT factors assessment as well as the importance of aspect assessment, SWOT factors rate assesment, and SWOT factors relationships assesment and alternative strategies. Steps completion of this research was to determine the importance of each of these SWOT factor using the method of Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (QFD Fuzzy). Then the formulation of strategy have three stages, the first is the input stage (Internal Factor Evaluation matrix and External Factor Evaluation matrix), the second is matching stage (Strengths Threaths Waeknesses Opportunities matrix, Strategic Position and Action Evaluation matrix, Boston Consulting Group matrix, Grand Strategy matrix, Internal External matrix), and lastly is stage of the decision (Quantitative Startegic Planning Matrix matrix). Based on the results of the SWOT factors identification and validation that has been done, we obtained 39 internal factors and 43 external factors to assess business conditions distribution outlet Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak. From processing data results in the Internal Factor Evaluation matrix (IFE) and the External Factor Evaluation matrix (EFE), it have been known that external conditions and outlet distribution business Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak are at a good position. It can be seen from the total score external and internal weighting that is above average (2.5), 3.1557 for the internal conditions and 2.7945 for external conditions. From the strategy formulation at the decision stage, we obtained 10 alternatives strategic who can be used for business strategy distribution outlet Minangkabau distro Kapuyuak. Then we determined priority strategies using Attactiveness Scores (AS). The result is an alternative strategy that has a Total value of Attactiveness Scores the highest (TAS) is a strategy 5 "maintain, develop, and improve the quality of the product" and the strategy that has the lowest interest rate is strategy 6 " improves the ability of the workforce to marketting, sales, service, and financial management".
