Abstract

Objective Preventive measures of Covid-19 is people’s willingness to adopt health protocols in their lives. The low implementation of health protocols on hanging-out activities at coffeeshops, sed problems in efforts to handle Covid-19. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause student behaviour in implementing health protocols at coffee shops in Padang City, 2021. Methode This study uses a qualitative design from November 2020-April 2021 in three coffee shops in Padang City. Informants collect using purposive sampling, data collection through interviews, observation, and document study. Data validity is maintained by using the triangulation method. Result The results showed the causes of the emergence of disobedient health protocol in college students consisted lack of knowledge Covid-19, subjective norm factors and the tendency of attitudes towards unfavourable behaviour, low motivation on intention factor that show internal reasons as barriers, low factor of social support to personal autonomy, existence of condition factors that support informants not implementing health protocols, and less involvement of the government in providing health information access in coffeeshops environment. Conclusion Students behave in disobedience to health protocols due to lack of support factors causing behaviour change. It is recommended that students be more active and motivated to be the behaviour change icon.
