Abstract

This research is a persuasive analysis of the text in the COVID-19 slogan written by KEMENKES. Persuasive text is a text without any compulsion for the reader to do what the writer wants. The purpose of a persuasive text is to convince those interested in being interested in the text's content and can take action on the COVID-19 slogan text written by KEMENKES. Meanwhile, slogans are alluring, short, and easy to understand and convey information to the public. This research aims to find the construction, techniques, and functions used in the COVID-19 slogan written by KEMENKES. This study used a qualitative non-participatory observation approach. This research was conducted descriptively through texts written in the COVID-19 slogan by KEMENKES as a research data source. This finding leads to Leech (1993) about construction, Keraf (2004) about the techniques used in the texts in the COVID-19 slogan written by KEMENKES, and the text functions defined by Simons (in Soemirat, 2008). In this study, the authors found 42 (forty-two) persuasive text data resulting from the construction of elocution, illocution, and perlocution. Second, there are four persuasive text techniques consisting of rationalization, identification, suggestions, and conformity technique. This consists of 16 (sixteen) data in the rationalization technique, 6 (six) data in the identification technique, 11 (eleven) data in the suggestion technique, and 9 (nine) data in the conformity technique. Third, the authors conclude that there are three persuasive text functions in this persuasive text in the slogan COVID-19 by KEMENKES. This can be found in 24 (twenty-four) data in the control function, 2 (two) data in the consumer protection function, and 16 (sixteen) data in the knowledge function in the persuasive text in the COVID-19 slogan written by KEMENKES. Keyword: text, persuasive, slogan
