Abstract

In Indonesia, stunting is currently prevalent every year, one of the factors that causes stunting is due to lack of knowledge and attitude of the mother. This can be prevented, one of which is the provision of health education about stunting. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education about stunting. The method used is Pre Experiment with One-Group Pre-test Post-test approach. The samples of this study were all mothers who had children aged 0-24 months, amounting to 17 people who were selected using the Purposive Sampling technique and data processing techniques in this study were the Wilcoxon Test. The results of this study found that the average mother’s knowledge before intervention was 80.00, while after intervention increased to 87.84, with a value ( pvalue=0,000). The average mother’s attitude before intervention was 35.88, while after intervention it increased to 37.88, with a value (pvalue=0.001). Conclusion there is the influence of health education on mother’s knowledge and attitudes about prevention of stunting. It is expected that health education about stunting prevention can be used as a standard operating procedure in the delivery of health services.
