Abstract

Young women including vulnerable groups suffer from anemia because young women are in their infancy and menstruating every month that causes iron loss. Knowledge of good anemia will reduce the incidence of anemia. This research aims to see the influence of knowledge of girls before and after being given health education at MTSN 1 Padang City. The design of this study was pre-experimental one group pre test-post test without control group. A sample of 25 respondents was selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire that was analyzed and analyzed by Wilcoxon test because the data were not normally distributed. The results obtained that the average knowledge of students before giving health education was 12.36 and after being given health education was 14,28. From the results of the study is the influence of health education there is a youth knowledge about anemia, p value = 0,000 (p, 0,05). From the above studies it is expected that schools can work with health institutions to provide health education about anemia in a continious and continuous manner towards young women.
