Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARENTING SELF-EFFICACY AND PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN PULLING CASSAVA FARM WORKERS IN VILLAGE NEGARA RATU, NORTH LAMPUNG Setia Nurfatoni, Nila Anggreiny, Ida Rahmah Burhan, Dwi Puspasari, Nelia Afriyeni Psychology Departement, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Andalas Setianurfatoni@gmail.com ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the relationship between parenting self-efficacy and parental involvement in pulling cassava farm workers in village Negara Ratu. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method in the form of corelations using pearson product moment analysis techniques. Respondents in researching 227 people who have children aged 10-12 years who attends elementary school using sampling area technique. Data was collected using a scale of Self-efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index (SEPTI) (α =0.884) and scale of Parental involvement (α = 0.885). The results showed that parenting self-efficacy has a significant relationship with parental involvement which can be seen from the significance value of 0.022 (p <0.05) and the Pearson correlation value of 0.352. This shows that parenting self-efficacy has a relationship with parental involvement of 0.352 which shows the level of correlation of variables that are classified as weak. It means the higher parenting self-efficacy, the higher parental involvement in pulling cassava farm workers, and conversely. Keywords: Farm Worker, Parental Involvement, Parenting Self-Efficacy.
