Abstract

This study analyzes the Foreign Tourist Attitude towards Nature in Down the Nile: Alone in a Fisherman’s Skiff by Rosemary Mahoney. This research aims to know how tourists behave when they go on traveling. The writer uses the ecocritical theory in connecting the human attitude towards nature in the story. This study used the descriptive qualitative method, and the result is presented using the descriptive method. The primary data source is Down the Nile: Alone in a Fisherman’s Skiff novel. The sources of secondary data are books and journal articles related to the research topic. The finding shows two forms of nature represented in the story: local life along with the Nile River and powerful nature. It is also found that there are two forms of human attitude toward nature represented in the novel. They are Tourists Loving Nature, and Tourists Destroy nature.
