Abstract

The Mandeh area was located in Koto Tarusan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This area was a marine tourism sector area in West Sumatra. Studies Ecology is one way of conserving mangrove forests in the area Mandeh. This study aims to determine the density, canopy cover, and environmental factors of Rhizophora apiculata in Carocok Tarusan and Nagari Mandeh. The method used in this research is purposive sampling with the method square grid. To capture the header cover image using the technique of hemispherical photography with the GLAMA application. Environmental factor analysis descriptive. In Carocok Tarusan, for the tree strata of high density, 1.500/ha was obtained, while for the sapling strata, it was 3.200/ha. Nagari Lokasi Location Mandeh for tree strata, the density obtained is 1.000/ha, while for strata, the density is 1.000/ha sampling of 2.000/ha. Average canopy covers percentage in Carocok Tarusan by 67.44% while in Nagari Mandeh 70.12%. On the Characteristics factor environment based on descriptive analysis, it was found that the habitat of R.apiculata can be affected by water temperature, salinity, and pH.
