Abstract

This research investigates the influence of personality traits on level of college student stress in International Program, Economic Faculty, at Andalas University. The data obtained through questionnaire. The samples were drawn from 107 student’s that study in international programs, economic faculty in Andalas University. The data analyzed by using SPSS 15.0. In this research there are six variable, those are independent variable which are opennes, neuroticsm, conscientiousness, agreeableness and extraversion (big five personality). The big five personality can make someone be long term or short term to have stress.The dependent variable is level of students stress. Level of college students stress is difference, personality be the bigger factor that make it different, they stress can be in the long term and short term The findings indicated that from big five personality only neuroticsm and openness has significant influence on level of student’s stress and the level of college student’s stress is quite low.
