Abstract

Inventory control is an activity related to planning, implementation, and supervision, determining material needs so that, on the one hand, operational requirements are on time. One of the tasks of Unit Pengawasan Persediaan dan Pemeliharaan is to manage the procurement of spare parts to meet equipment maintenance and repair needs. It aims to ensure the availability of spare parts at the time required, the number needed and the type required. According to an interview with the head of Unit Pengawasan Persediaan dan Pemeliharaan, that the existing policies cannot meet the demand for emergency spare parts. This condition is caused by an uncertain lead time, which causes delays in the arrival of spare parts. The delay will have an impact on the cement production process and losses at PT Semen Padang. The impact of the delay of demand for the emergency spare part will be anticipated with the inventory management system. In this case, ADI-CV classification to determine the amount of spare part that will be a priority. Also, this classification chooses the inventory policy that will be applied in the inventory management system. The inventory policy aiming to determine the optimal safety stock, reorder point, and order quantity of production machine parts based on demand uncertainty and lead time that occur, where uncertainty is modeled using an appropriate distribution. The improvement is expected to improve the quality of cement production at PT Semen Padang. Based on the ADI-CV classification, 92 spare parts will prioritize the inventory management system using Periodic Review (T, s, S). The total inventory cost calculated using the Periodic Review (T, s, S) policy is 73,21% much lower than the current policy at PT Semen Padang. By using the proposed inventory, which is Periodic Review (T, s, S) has saved money potential as much as Rp743.956.386 of the total inventory costs in the current policy. Also optimizes the service level value to 90% for the general.
