Abstract

THE EFFECT OF COVID 19 IMPACT ON THE LABOR INCOME RECEIVED IN WEST SUMATERA 2020 By: Ozy Sumarno Putra 1510514014 Prepared and submitted to fulfillment of the requirements to achieve the degree of Bachelor of Economics in the Department of Economics Faculty of Economics, Universitas Andalas Abstract The Corona Virus pandemic (Covid-19) does not only affect health. The economic sector was also hit by the outbreak of Covid-19. The economic impact of this pandemic has a dramatic effect on the welfare of many families and communities. As a result of an appeal from the government to conduct social distancing, independent quarantine and an appeal for work from home can even be the application of lock down by the Government. This certainly affects the production and sales in various sectors that cause a decrease in income. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of co-19 impact on labor income in the city of Padang and Padang Panjang 2020. This study was a quantitative study, the research method used in this study was to use a quantitative descriptive analysis. By describing the impact of the corona virus (Covid-19) on labor income. With cross sectional approach. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling with a sample of 300 respondents. Data collection using google form. Some respondents (49.7%) had a declining income when the covid pandemic 19, more than most of the respondents civil servant workers had fixed income (89.7%) when covid pandemic 19, more than most of the Ojek worker respondents reported having income decreased by (91.3%) during the pandemic covid 19, A small proportion of non-agricultural sector worker respondents had an increase in income (12.5%) during the covid pandemic 19. From the results of the study it was concluded that there was a decrease income received by labor due to cov-19 impact in West Sumatra p=0,000 (p<0,05).
