Abstract
This research discusses about politeness strategies as Found in Little Big Shot Talk show with kid as the guests star. Harvey as a host in the talk show is an American comedian, television host, an actor, and the author. The aims of this research is to analyze the type of politeness strategies used in Little Big Shot talk show with kid as the guests star and to identify the dominants type of politeness strategy used in the conversation of Little Big Shot talk show. The writer use pragmatic identity method to analyze the data. The data of this research is the utterance that utter by Harvey and the guests star. The data are taken 3 videos that obtained from a talk show entitled Little Big Shot with kid as the guests star. This research used Brown and Levinson’s theory (1987). The results of the analysis shows that there are 15 types of politeness strategies used in Little Big Shot talk show. Those strategies are bald on record (2), positive politeness (10), negative politeness (1) and off record(2). Positive politeness is the most used strategy in this talk show.
