Abstract

This research is aimed to decide the behavior of people's self-protection in Padang city during the Covid-19 pandemic. Self-protection behavior relates to the adherence to mask use and hand hygiene by washing hands with soap and clean running water. The behavior is influenced by several factors including birth, daily routine, age and education. For this study, 300 respondents in West Sumatera were surveyed online and the evolutionary deployment was employed for the data collection process. By using the Binary regression Logistics, the result indicates that the birth, online driver job, age and education affect the protective behavior (wear face masks and wash hands regularly with soap and water) in West Sumatra.
