Abstract

This research aim to find out the effect of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership toward self efficacy and to discover the final impact to organizational commitment of Andalas university’s educational personnel. This research framework is based on social cognitive theory that has been developed by Bandura and previous research by Min – Ten Tsai, et al (2011). The design of this research is a quantitative construct which the object are educational personnel of Andalas university. The data collection use stratified random sampling method which number of samples are 164 in total. Data are analyzed by structural equation model using SmartPLS V2.0 software. The relation of intervening variable is analyzed by Sobel Test. The result of this research shows that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant relation to leader’s transformational leadership. Furthermore, a positive significant relation also shown in the relation of personnel’s self efficacy that mediated by transformational leadership. The result also show that self efficacy has positive significant relation to the employees of Andalas University.
