Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the carbon cost management in PT. Semen Padang. The type of study conducted is case study research by using primary data obtained through directly observe and study at PT. Semen Padang. This study aims to determine tons of diesel fuel consumed, diesel fuel reduction consumption, diesel fuel cost reduction, diesel fuel CO2 emission reduction during the last three years (2009-2011), and PT. Semen Padang initiative to reduce CO2 emission in order to create the competitive advantage. This study leads to the conclusion that consumption reduction of diesel fuel happened in 2010 was 716.739,1512 liters but PT. Semen Padang was operating the process inefficiently in 2011. The number of inefficiency was 541.982,6125 liters. Diesel fuel cost in 2010 was efficient for Rp 4.300.434.907 and not efficient for Rp 3.251.895.675 in 2011. That means in 2010 company had better performance related to diesel fuel cost than in 2010. This study result showed that PT. Semen Padang did not conduct yet the reduction of CO2 emission based on the calculation of diesel consumption reduction and CO2 emission.
