Abstract

In this research, the writer focuses on analysing some American rock band album covers as found in internet. The writer attempts to analyze how American rock band album cover, and in particular covers, refer to broader cultural frameworks in order to communicate through visual representations. The cover album promotes their product and used their capability in using signs. The American rock band album cover is interesting because album cover is also as an art in presenting their work in music and showing their culture. Within an album cover there is a lot of symbolism that relates to certain specific things to do with either the album itself, or the band. It could be related to a song within the album, the name of the album, an issue that the Artist or Band is experiencing or an issue that is happening within society at the time the album was recorded.
