Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the perception of Donald Trump in formulating of the United States (US) foreign policy to withdraw from Paris Agreement. This research has its urgency due to the dynamics of US politics which initially ratified Paris Agreement in the period of Barack Obama's administration, decided to withdraw under President Donald Trump administration and ignoring protests from both at domestic and international. It shows there is certain point of view or perception whose by Trump. To analyze the perception of Donald, the author uses the concept of foreign policy especially in term of idiosyncracy and perceptions according to Robert Jervis where perception consists of beliefs, images, and intentions. This study discovered that Trump's belief is that Paris Agreement will disadvantage US economy and irrationa due to his short term economic view. Whereas the image captured by Trump from Paris Agreement is an obstacles to US vision. Lastly, the intention of Paris Agreement according to Trump's perception is an attempt to restrain and control US industry. Keywords : Perception, Trump, Paris Agreement, United State
