Abstract
KEPUASAN KERJA DENGAN MEDIA SOSIAL SEBAGAI VARIABEL MODERASI STUDI KASUS PADA KARYAWAN KANTORAN DIDAERAH SUDIRMAN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT JAKARTA SELATAN Thesis oleh : Nurul Hafizah Syahril Pembimbing I : Prof. Donard Games, SE, M.Bus (Adv), Ph.D Pembimbing II : Dr. Yulihasri, SE, MBA ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh hustle culture dan fear of missing out (FOMO) terhadap kepuasan kerja dengan media sosial sebagai variabel moderasi pada karyawan kantoran di kawasan Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), Jakarta Selatan. Fenomena hustle culture dan FOMO semakin terlihat di kalangan pekerja urban, terutama akibat tekanan sosial dan ekspektasi produktivitas yang tinggi yang juga diperkuat oleh media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) melalui perangkat lunak SmartPLS 4. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 orang dengan latar belakang profesional beragam.Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner yang mengukur empat konstruk utama: hustle culture, FOMO, kepuasan kerja, dan penggunaan media sosial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa secara tidak terduga, hustle culture dan FOMO memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan kerja, yang berarti semakin tinggi intensitas hustle dan rasa takut tertinggal justru meningkatkan kepuasan kerja pada konteks populasi yang diteliti. Demikian pula, media sosial juga tidak terbukti menurunkan kepuasan kerja secara langsung. Sebaliknya, interaksi antara hustle culture dan media sosial, serta FOMO dan media sosial, memperkuat pengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan kerja.Temuan ini menyiratkan bahwa dalam konteks karyawan SCBD, hustle culture dan FOMO dipersepsikan sebagai bentuk kompetensi dan pencapaian, bukan sebagai tekanan negatif. Lingkungan kerja yang kompetitif serta ekspektasi sosial yang tinggi menjadikan media sosial sebagai alat validasi pencapaian dan sumber motivasi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis terhadap pemahaman hubungan antara 4 fenomena kerja modern dan kepuasan kerja, serta implikasi praktis bagi manajemen SDM dalam merancang kebijakan yang adaptif terhadap budaya kerja kontemporer. Kata Kunci: Hustle Culture, Fear of Missing Out, Media Sosial, Kepuasan Kerja, SCBD THE EFFECT OF HUSTLE CULTURE AND FEAR OF MISSING OUT ON JOB SATISFACTION WITH SOCIAL MEDIA AS VARIABLES A MODERATORY STUDY ON OFFICE EMPLOYEES IN THE SUDIRMAN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT, SOUTH JAKARTA Thesis by: Nurul Hafizah Syahril Supervisor I: Prof. Donard Games, SE, M.Bus (Adv), Ph.D Supervisor II: Dr. Yulihasri, SE, MBA ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the influence of hustle culture and fear of missing out (FOMO) on job satisfaction, with social media as a moderating variable, among office employees in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) of South Jakarta. The phenomena of hustle culture and FOMO have become increasingly prominent in urban work environments, driven by high productivity expectations and social pressures amplified through social media. A quantitative approach was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The study involved 100 respondents from various professional backgrounds.Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring four main constructs: hustle culture, FOMO, job satisfaction, and social media usage. Surprisingly, the results revealed that both hustle culture and FOMO have a positive influence on job satisfaction, indicating that higher levels of hustle and FOMO actually increase job satisfaction within this specific population. Furthermore, social media does not negatively affect job satisfaction directly. On the contrary, the interaction effects between hustle culture and social media, as well as FOMO and social media, enhance the positive influence on job satisfaction.These findings suggest that, in the context of SCBD employees, hustle culture and FOMO are perceived as signs of competence and achievement rather than as sources of stress. The competitive work environment and high social expectations position social media as a tool for validation and motivation. This study contributes theoretically to the 6 understanding of modern work phenomena and job satisfaction, and offers practical implications for HR management in adapting to contemporary work culture.
