Abstract

This study aims to determine the composition and structure of saplings in the Community Forest Area (HKm) Padang Janiah, Lambung Bukik Village, Padang City. This research was conducted from December 2024 to February 2025. Vegetation analysis was carried out by using a combination method of belt transects and quadrat plots determined by purposive sampling. In the transect, 20 plots (5x5 m) were systematically placed alternately on both sides of the belt transect. Based on the results of the study found 23 families, 36 species and 96 individuals with the dominant family is Melastomataceae (30.21%) and the co-dominant family is Euphorbiaceae (16.67%). The highest INP in sapling level vegetation is Bellucia pentamera Naudin (64.41%). Plant Diversity Index in Padang Janiah Community Forest is included in the medium category which is 2.94.
