Abstract
This study aims to analyze the added value of rice agroindustry in Agam Regency, analyze the characteristics of rice quality in Agam Regency, formulate and analyze internal and external factors and formulate a strategy for developing rice agroindustry in Agam Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive. The research stage begins with conducting Value Added Analysis, Rice Quality Analysis, formulating internal external factors and strategies using SWOT analysis, and selecting priority strategies using the QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) method. The results of the study indicate that the added value and value added ratio of rice agroindustry in Ampek Angkek are Rp 2,150/kg of grain (20 %), Candung Rp 2,225/kg of grain (21 %), Tilatang Kamang Rp 2,377/kg of grain (22 %), Baso Rp 1,826/kg of grain (18 %), and Kamang Magek Rp 2,827/kg of grain (26 %). The results of the analysis of water content and degree of milling of rice samples from all agro-industries are in accordance with SNI 2020. The rice quality class based on SNI for Ampek Angkek and Baso agro-industries is in the Medium 1 quality class. Candung, Tilatang Kamang, and Kamang Magek agro-industries are in the Medium 2 quality class. The results of the identification of internal factors consist of five strengths and four weaknesses. Strengths are the availability of machines, capital, labor, location, and customers. Weaknesses consist of drying facilities, business management, product quality standardization, and promotion. External factors The rice agro-industry has four opportunities and four threats. Opportunities consist of raw materials, markets, government policies, and rice enthusiasts. Threats consist of weather, business competition, grain quality, and production costs. Based on the results of the strategy formulation, the priority strategy is to improve services to provide satisfaction to customers/consumers, displaying a peak TAS value of 7.24.
