Abstract

Diplomasi publik merupakan instrumen kepentingan negara yang sangat pupuler digunakaan saat ini, Korea Selatan merupakan salah satu negara yang menggunakan diplomasi publik melalui Korean Wave sebagai medianya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor keberhasilan diplomasi publik Korea Selatan melalui Korean Wave di Indonesia yang dilakukan secara intens oleh Korea Selatan sejak pemerintahan Presiden Lee Myung-bak melalui kebijakan luar negerinya for a global Korea. Keberhasilan diplomasi publik ini dilihat dari dampak yang diberikan terhadap indonesia dalam bidang politik, ekonomi, dan sosial budaya. Mark Leonard menjelaskan terdapat tiga dimensi untuk melihat keberhasilan suatu diplomasi publik yaitu, news management, strategic communication, dan relationship building, dengan mengunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian berupa analisis eksplanatif di dapatkan analisis bahwa ketiga dimensi yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan suatu diplomasi publik, dimiliki oleh Korea Selatan dalam melakukan usaha diplomasi publiknya melalui Korean Wave di Indonesia. Namun terdapat dua dimensi yang paling mempengaruhi keberhasilan diplomasi publik Korea Selatan melalui Korean Wave tersebut, yaitu strategic communication dan relationship building, karena kedua dimensi ini memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap keberhasilan diplomasi publik Korea Selatan di Indonesia. ABSTRACT Public diplomacy is an instrument of state interest that is very popular today, South Korea is one of the countries that uses public diplomacy through the Korean Wave as its media. This study aims to analyze the success factors of South Korea's public diplomacy through the Korean Wave in Indonesia which was intensely carried out by South Korea since President Lee Myung-bak's government through its foreign policy for a global Korea. The success of public diplomacy is seen from the impact given to Indonesia in the fields of politics, economics, and socio-culture. Mark Leonard explained that there are three dimensions to seeing the success of public diplomacy, news management, strategic communication, and relationship building, using a qualitative approach with the type of explanatory analysis in the analysis that the three dimensions that influence the success of a public diplomacy are owned by Korea South in carrying out its public diplomacy efforts through the Korean Wave in Indonesia. But there are two dimensions that most influence the success of South Korean public diplomacy through the Korean Wave, namely strategic communication and relationship building, because these two dimensions have a significant impact on the success of South Korean public diplomacy in Indonesia.
