Abstract

Volodymyr Zelensky's leadership as the president of Ukraine has taken a policy to strengthen Ukraine's integration with western countries particularly in the context of political and military policies as Ukraine’s desire increased to become a part of the European Union and NATO. This is inseparable from the influence of Volodymyr Zelensky's personality as president of Ukraine. The reason is, Zelensky does not has political background but he is a former comedian actor. However, Zelensky's foreign policy is one of the causes of the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict which began in 2022. The research uses a conceptual framework of political personality. Then, researchers use qualitative research methods with analytical descriptive research and the data collection method used secondary data. This research analyzes Volodymyr Zelensky personality based on three indicators namely cognitive factors, affective needs and interpersonal relationships. The analysis proves that Volodymyr Zelensky has paranoid personality that has main characteristics are suspicion and distrust in this context is Russia. Then, this personality has implications on Ukraine’s foreign policy making in the conflict of Russia and Ukraine.
