Abstract

Agriculture is the main sector that sustains people's lives, and farmer group development is the process of enabling/enabling a group of farmer group members to have a common goal. Extension can influence targets through its role as education, innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring, evaluation, and can understand advisors for farmers. The form of extension in the development of joint farmer groups is the existence of regular group member meetings and mutual cooperation activities accompanied by extension workers. Lubuk Begalung sub-district is a potential area for rice commodities. The problem in the farmer group in Kampung Jua Nan XX, which is the sale of rice grain consisting of the price of rice grain in the Kampung Jua Nan XX area. This needs to be resolved by paying attention to the assessment of grade level as an indicator of the role of agricultural extension workers in controlling leafhopper pests. This research was conducted intentionally or purposively. The method used is descriptive method with survey type. The role of extension workers in the implementation of the extension process is in accordance with the implementation, which starts from the planning process, implementation, and evaluation of farmers. The role of extension workers in improving farmers' knowledge and attitudes is classified as good, based on the average level of knowledge of farmers with a score of 82 which is included in the high, and the attitude of farmers with an average score of 136 with good criteria
