Abstract

Siam orange production in West Sumatra is the fifth largest among other provinces in Indonesia. As the largest producer of siam oranges in West Sumatra Province, Lima Puluh Kota Regency has the potential to become a siam orange center. However, it is not allowed by the production growth, harvested area, and productivity. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors affecting the siam orange production in Andiang Village, Suliki District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The location was chosen based on the consideration that Andiang Village is a siam orange farming center that started in 2016, but there has been a significant decline in production in 2022. The research was conducted using the Cobb-Douglas Production Function model. The result showed that the variables of fertilizer (X1) at the 5% alpha level and labor (X2) at the 10% alpha level significantly influenced the siam orange production with an R 2 value of 0.690. In contrast, the variables of pesticide (X3), plant age (X4), seed type (X5), and land topography (X6) did not show significant results. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the government should be involved in providing input assistance for orange cultivation in order to increase the production of siam oranges in Andiang Village.
