Abstract
Solok Radjo Cooperative is a producer cooperative engaged in coffee farming. As members of Solok Radjo Cooperative, women are actively involved in almost every coffee farming activity, especially in planting, weed clearing, and harvesting. In addition, these women farmers are still responsible for domestic activities and become part of the social community in the environment where they live. This study was done by a descriptive method using Harvard Analytical Framework and formula of time allocation percentage using 30 Solok Radjo Women Coffee Farmers as respondents. Women coffee farmers dominantly active in multiple role and activities; productive activity in coffee farming, reproductive activity in the household, and social activity in their neighborhood. The family members of Solok Radjo household receive benefit that can be accessed and controlled depend on how the family members themselves divide them. Women farmers spent their time mostly in reproductive activity as a housewives. The involvement of women in making a living requires a certain amount of time, so there is a need for a division of labor among all family members in non-agricultural activities. However, due to the culture that has existed in society for generations, men are not too burdened with domestic tasks. Mean of time spent by women farmers in coffee farming activity is 174.4 hours in a year performing weed clearing, fertilizing, harvesting, and delivering coffee cherries to Solok Radjo Buying Station. They spent 1549.5 hours for reproductive activity annually performing house cleaning, cooking, washing dishes, washing clothes, and grocery shopping. Lastly for social activity, the women spent 303.8 hours for social gathering, Qur’an recitation, and extension activity in a year.
