Abstract
Child neglect is children whose needs are not appropriately met, both physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. The criteria in this study that are said to be child neglect are the lack of fulfillment of healthy and nutritious food needs. This study aims to determine the effect of household poverty, child gender, education level of the head of household, employment status of the head of household, family size, and residential area on child neglect in Papua Province. Papua is the province with the highest cases of child neglect in Indonesia in 2019. This research uses a quantitative approach with logistic regression analysis. The data from this study came from the 2019 National Socio-Economic Survey using the Stata data processing tool. In this study, the variable of child neglect is used as the dependent variable. The results of this study found that household poverty, employment status of the head of household, family size, and residential area simultaneously significant effect on child neglect in Papua. This study found that the child's gender education level of the head of household has no significant effect on child neglect in Papua.
