Abstract

Kata kunci : Ageratum conyzoides, Brachiaria mutica, fitotoksisitas, kelapa sawit menghasilkan, metil metsulfuron VEGETATION ANALYSIS AND DOSES OF HERBICIDE Methyl Metsulfuron 20% TO CONTROL WEEDS IN PRODUCTIVE SMALL HOLDER OIL PALM PLANTATION(Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) ABSTRACT This research was conducted on farmer’s productive oil palm plantation in Kenagarian Tebing Tinggi, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra Province and at Laboratory of Campus III Andalas University from September to December 2018. This research aims to determine the composition of species and structure of weed vegetation in the research area, the dose of herbicide Methyl Metsulfuron which effectively controls weeds and to know phytotoxicity symptoms of the use Methyl Metsulfuron herbicide. The treatments were arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 7 treatments and 4 replications. The herbicide treatment consisted of herbicides with methyl metsulfuron at doses of 87.5; 75.0; 62.5; 50.0 and 37.5 g / ha, mechanical weeding and control. The data analysis used is the F test and continued with the DNMRT test at the level of 5%. Based on the results of the study, the land was dominated by 3 weeds, namely: Brachiaria mutica, Axonopus fissifolius and Ageratum conyzoides. The application of Methyl Metsulfuron herbicide of 62.5 g/ ha effectively controls Ageratum conyzoides, Clidemia hirta, and Chromolaena odorata up to 12 MSA, and does not cause phytotoxicity to oil palm plants. Keywords: Ageratum conyzoides, Brachiaria mutica , phytotoxicity, productive oil palm, methyl metsulfuron
