Abstract

PT Pelindo II branch Teluk Bayur is a State Owned Enterprises ( SOEs ) which manages the port in the Teluk Bayur, Padang. One of the facilities owned by PT Pelindo II branch Teluk Bayur is a Container Terminal which functions in the service of loading and unloading of containers. Containers that enter or exit previously stacked in the yard called block yard. The problem is the preparation of a container on the yard block and vacant land based operator experience. This causes a buildup of container ships do not always pay attention to the same destination. Container ships same purpose should be placed close to each other, in order to block yard can be used optimally. This study aims to apply a mathematical model to optimize the use of yard block. Stages of research, namely the definition of the system, a mathematical formulation, data collection, opotimasi and sensitivity analysis. Solving the problem in this study using a mathematical model formulation and method of yard template construction heuristic. Mathematical model applied is mixed integer programming. Functions goal is to get the optimum value of the use of existing space in the yard block and generate a layout that takes into account the type of ships coming. Results of the implementation of the model shows that a comparison between the mathematical model and method of yard template construction heuristic to the real conditions in the Container Terminal branch Teluk Bayur based on the data in July 2015 proved to be better. Total slots used by the Teminal Container in its realization is as much as 537 rectangle which is equivalent to 108 slots in Block A. The total slot used by the formulation of mathematical models and methods of yard template construction heuristic is as much as 515 rectangle which is equivalent to 103 slots ( Z optimal value ) Block A over a period of time. Optimization model applied can be considered as a decision support tool in planning the layout of containers in the yard block. Keywords : Sensitivity analysis, Container, Yard block
