Abstract
This study aims to examine the macro variables that affect infant mortality rate in West Sumatra. This study uses secondary data in the form of panel data consisting of annual data (time series) with the period of 2013-2016 in 19 districts or cities in the Province of West Sumatra (Cross Section). Data analysis is done by using Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach by knowing the influence of predetermined variable. Based on the analysis it was found that female LFPR variable had positive and significant effect, TFR had negative effect and GDP per capita had negative but not significant effect on infant mortality rate in West Sumatra. Keywords: infant mortality rate, GRDP per capita, TPAKwanita, panel data
