Abstract
This research will be analyzed multidimensional of poverty problem experienced by children under five years in West Sumatera province using National Socio-Economic Survey data in 2014. The data will be explained using absolute poverty approach proposed by Roelen, Gassman and De Neubourg that children deprived two or more under their basic needs. Furthermore, the author will analyze important factors that affect child poverty be observed from the characteristics of parents and household. Dimensional indicators in this research are exclusive breastfeeding, complete basic immunization, participation in pre-school education (PAUD), drinking water and sanitation safety. To explain that, this research uses descriptive analysis and logistic regression analysis to process the data. The result of logistic regression shown the dimensional indicators that affect children under five years in experiencing absolute poverty are the education of head of household, occupation of head of household, mother education, residence, and household poverty. Keywords: Multidimensional of poverty, children under five years, exclusive breastfeeding, complete basic immunization, participation in pre-school education (PAUD), drinking water and sanitation safety, logistics regression analysis.
