Abstract

“EKSPLORASI DAN KARAKTERISASI ISOLAT RHIZOBAKTERI INDEGENUS ASAL KABUPATEN SIJUNJUNG DAN EFEKNYA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KELAPA SAWIT (Elais guinensis Jacq.) IN THE PRE-NURSERY" ABSTRACT Rizobakteria are a group of bacteria that live saprophytically in the rhizosphere or root zone. Several of them can act as plant growth promoters or as a biocontrol agent against disease and as such can increase the yield of agricultural crops. The role of microorganisms in overcoming environmental problems is the reason for exploration and isolation of potentially useful bacteria. This study was conducted from February to November 2017 at the Laboratory of Microbiology and the Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Andalas. The research objectives were to explore the diversity of rhizobacteria on palm roots in Sijunjung and to identity the isolate best able to improve the growth of oil palm seedlings in Pre-Nursery. There were 42 isolates with 35 irregular isolates, 3 circular isolates, 1 rhizoid isolate and 3 filamentous isolates, diameters ranging from 0.3 - 2.5 cm and the dominant white rhizobacterial isolates of milk and 2 yellow isolates (sjd 1.2.1 and sjd 2.1.1). Isolate sjc 1.2.1 was the best at enhancing the fresh weight of seedlings, the fresh weight of roots and shoot dry weight. Keywords: exploration, indegenous, rhizobacteri, Sijunjung, palm,
