Abstract

The manufacture industries is an industrial activity in order producing goods or services. Factory where the instrument of industrial activity happen is an important factor in the development of existing industries in the manufacturing company. Improvement in layout production is an important thing in order to achieve a common goal of company, to get a profits in industry as much as possible. PT Kunango Jantan is a companies located in Padang city which is engaged in manufacturing, especially in production of "Iron Pillar" which is often found in electricity poles or telephone poles. This company is still not optimal in distance and cost as well and the use of resources such as machinery, material handling, operator, and arragement of existing facilities on the production floor. Making design analysis follow the procedures Systematical Layout Planning by calculating the coefficient of outflow and inflow coefficient in the matrix from to chart which is showed linkage facilities machines with table priorities. Layout design is also use computerized program such as Automated Layout Design Program (ALDEP), COMLAD, BLOCPLAN, dan Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique (CRAFT). The arrangement machine is describing by Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD). Finally, it’s obtained some alternative options of floor layout arrangement chosen by the lowest distance and lowest cost of material handling costs. According to alternatif layout design, it’s obtained various material handling cost which each cost of OUTFLOW, INFLOW, Automated Layout Design Program (ALDEP), COMLAD, BLOCPLAN, dan Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique (CRAFT) in following are Rp. 1.122.553,83 ; Rp. 1.275.651,38 ; Rp. 1.204.667,43 ; Rp. 1.175.320,4 ; Rp. 1.926.848,77 ; Rp. 2.738.719,66. The chosen alternatif is COMLAD which cost is Rp. 1.122.53,83. Keywords : Systematical Layout Planning, Activity Relationship Diagram, Material Handling Cost
