Abstract

PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) DI PRE-NURSERY YANG DI BERI COCOPEAT PADA ULTISOL Abstrak Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Greenhouse Balai Pengkajian Tanaman Perkebunan (BPTP) Nagari Gunung Medan, Kacamatan Sitiung, Kabupaten Dharmasraya, Sumatera Barat dari bulan maret sampai juni 2017. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui dosis cocopeat yang tepat pada media Ultisol terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit di fase pre-nursery. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 taraf perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Data di analisis secara statistik dengan uji F pada taraf nyata 5%. Apabila F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel 5%, maka dilanjutkan dengan BNT pada taraf 5%. Parameter yang diamati adalah Tinggi Bibit, Panjang Daun, Lebar Daun, Jumlah Helaian Daun, Diameter Bonggol Bibit Tanaman Kelapa Sawit di fase pre-nursery. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dengan pemberian 90 gram cocopeat pada Ultisol dapat memperlebar helaian daun dipembibitan kelapa sawit di fase pre-nursery, sedangkan pada rata-rata tinggi tanaman, panjang daun, jumlah daun dan diameter bonggol tidak adanya pengaruh dari pemberian cocopeat pada Ultisol. Kata Kunci : Cocopeat, Greenhouse, Kelapa Sawit, Pembibitan, Ultisol. viii THE GROWTH OF PRE-NURSERY PALM OIL SEEDLINGS (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) ON ULTISOL SUPPLEMENTED WITH COCOPEAT Abstract This research was conducted in the Greenhouse Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Greenhouse, Nagari Gunung Medan, Kacamatan Sitiung, Kabupaten Dharmasraya, Sumatera Barat from March to June 2017 to determine the best dose of cocopeat for the growth of oil palm seedlings. The research used a Complete Random Design with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Data were analyzed statistically using the F-test at the 5% significance level. Significant differences were futher analysed using the smallest significant difference test also at the 5% level. Parameters observed were: seedling height, leaf length, leaf width, the number of leaves per frond, diameter of the oil palm seedling hump. Supplementation of Ultisol with 90 grams of cocopeat per plant increased leaf without changing the average height of the plant, leaf lenght, the number of leaves per frond or the hump diameter.
