Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang upaya yang dilakukan World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) dalam mengatasi masalah kerusakan hutan di Taman Nasional Tesso Nilo, Pelalawan,Riau pada rentang waktu 2004-2014. WWF memiliki salah satu program yang fokus pada penyelamatan hutan dan salah satu hutan yang mengalami banyak masalah di Indonesia ada di Taman Nasional Tesso Nilo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif analisis dengan sumber data primer melalui wawancara dengan pihak terkait dan sumber-sumber sekunder lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep ENGO yang dijelaskan oleh Paul Wapner mengenai upaya ENGO dalam penyelamatan lingkungan. Upaya ENGO yang pertama ialah action to change state behavior, yaitu sebuah aksi yang dilakukan oleh ENGO dalam membantu dalam mengubah prilaku negara. Upaya ENGO yang kedua adalah action to engage economic forces, yaitu sebuah tindakan dalam mereformasi sistim ekonomi yang dapat merusak hutan. Upaya yang ketiga adalah action to engage social mores, yaitu tindakan ENGO dalam mengubah pola pikir serta kebiasaan masyarakat yang salah tentang hutan. Kata kunci : WWF, Kerusakan hutan, Taman Nasional Tesso Nilo This research describes the efforts of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to overcome the problems of forest destruction in Tesso Nilo National Park, Pelalawan, Riau in the period 2004-2014. As a global and multi-network ENGO (Environment Non-Government Organization), WWF has one of the programs that focus on saving forests and one of Indonesia's many troubled forests in Tesso Nilo National Park. This research uses descriptive research method of analysis with primary data source through interview with related parties and other secondary sources. This study uses the ENGO concept described by Paul Wapner regarding ENGO's efforts in saving the environment. ENGO's first attempt was action to change state behavior, an action undertaken by ENGO in assisting to change state behavior. In this forest issue, WWF has made various efforts to change the country's customs such as. The second one is an action to engage economic forces, an act of reforming the economic system that could damage the forest. The third attempt is an action to engage social mores, where ENGO changed the wrong thinking and habit of the people about the forest. Keywords: WWF, Forest destruction, Tesso Nilo National Park
