Abstract

ABSTRACT PROFILE OF SMOKER SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE PADANG CITY by Yudi Putra Wardhana Tobacco is one of the major health problems and leading causes of death in the world with about 6 million death each year. The cases of Adolescence smoker in Indonesia is increasing every year. Almost 80% of Indonesian’s smoker started smoking before 19 years old. The method of this study was observasional descriptive with crossectional study. The amount of the samples are 380 students of SMAN 3, SMAN 13, and SMAN 15 Padang in 2017 by using Indonesian language questionnaire adapted of Global Youth Tobacco Survey from WHO. The results of this study shows that 12,90% students are smoker and all of them are males. Around 14,70% students were trying to smoke the age of 14-15 years old, 31,30% male student and 1,90% female students ever tried smoking. Most of the students got the smoke of cigarettes at home and environment. The conclusion of this study is there are few students of these schools are smoker. The most prevalence age were students begun to smoke is 14-15 years old. Most of students got the smoke of cigarettes at home and environment. Keywords : global youth tobacco survey, smoking, students ABSTRAK PROFIL MEROKOK PADA SISWA SMAN KOTA PADANG Oleh Yudi Putra Wardhana Tembakau merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan di dunia, dan merupakan penyebab kematian terbesar di dunia yaitu sekitar 6 juta kematian per tahun. Prevalensi perokok remaja di Indonesia semakin meningkat setiap tahun. Hampir 80% perokok di Indonesia mulai merokok sebelum usia 19 tahun. Hal ini disebabkan karena remaja sangat mudah terpengaruh dengan hal yang bersifat pencarian jati diri termasuk merokok. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif observasional dengan desain penelitian adalah potong lintang. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 380 orang siswa SMAN 3, SMAN 13, dan SMAN 15 Kota Padang pada tahun 2017 dengan menggunakan kuesioner Global Youth Tobacco Survey dari WHO, berbahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa 12,90% siswa adalah perokok, dan semuanya adalah laki-laki. Sebanyak 14,70% siswa mulai mencoba rokok pada usia 14-15 tahun. 31,30% siswa laki-laki dan 1,90% siswa perempuan pernah mencoba rokok. Sebagian besar siswa mendapat paparan asap rokok di rumah dan lingkungan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah hanya terdapat sedikit siswa di tiga sekolah tersebut merupakan perokok.
