Abstract

The research about Ant Species (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in Household in Pauh District, Padang, Sumatera Barat was conducted from October 2016 to Januari 2017. Sampling by using hand collection and baited trap (honey, fish and peanut butter) methods was conducted on 6 and 10 October 2016. A total of 15 species that belonging to 3 subfamilies, 5 tribes, 12 genera, and 3573 individuals of ants were collected which 11 species are ant pests. The highest number of species was found on Myrmicinae (9 species), followed by Dolichoderinae (4 species) and Formicinae (2 species). Keywords: household ants, baited trap, honey bait, ant pests
